One of 64 schools in the SUNY (State University of New York) system, °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳ embraces international students as they pursue their education in the United States. Located in the central New York region, we are one college with two campuses: Auburn and Fulton, NY.

We are a small college, which allows for a low average class size and an ideal learning environment for students to connect with faculty and peers and maximize their learning experience.

WHO IS AN INTERNATIONAL STUDENT?

An international applicant is a student who holds or expects to hold a student visa and who wishes to attend school in the United States.

You are not an international student if you are a Permanent Resident with a Form I-551 / Green Card, an undocumented immigrant, or a refugee.

If you are an International student and indicate you are an International applicant when prompted.

Early application for International Students is encouraged. The College must receive the necessary requirements (academic, financial, and linguistic) by June 1 for the Fall semester and by December 1 for the Spring semester.

INTERNATIONAL APPLICATION PROCESS

ACADEMIC RECORDS

F-1 Visa Applicant Students may be admitted to the College for fall or spring term. Basic requirements shall include the following:

  • Applicant must be a high school graduate. Students with foreign high school credentials must submit an official evaluation of their high school transcript and diploma. Evaluations are accepted only by . Applicants must complete all applications and correspondence in English.
  • Transfer applicants must provide official transcripts from all previously attended institutions. Transfer credit for previous college level coursework completed outside of the USA, should be evaluated by an approved NACES member. any other organization recognized by the College Registrar, and sent directly to °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳. All transfer applicants must complete and submit an International Student Transfer Form.

PHOTO IDENTIFICATION

International Students must provide a copy of an official government-issued form of identification, such as a passport, to confirm identity.

ENGLISH PROFICIENCY

Applicants whose native language is not English are required to demonstrate an acceptable level of English language proficiency. At this time, °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳ does not offer English as a Second Language (ESL) courses.

English language proficiency must be demonstrated by students whose native language is not English through compliance with official minimum TOEFL or NYSESLAT scores as indicated below.

  • The Institution Code for °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳ is 2010. Official TOEFL score reports must be submitted to °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳. Minimal TOEFL score (Internet test): 71
  • Official New York State English as a Second Language Achievement Test (NYSESLAT) scores must reach a minimum level of Commanding. Official NYSESLAT score reports must be submitted to °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳.

FOREIGN STUDENT FINANCIAL STATEMENT

REQUIRED FOR F-1 STUDENTS

F-1 visa applicants are required to demonstrate that they have financial resources to cover all of their educational expenses while attending °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳.

The Foreign Student Financial Statement must be completed and accompanied by current notarized bank statements supporting the information reported on the form. Applicants must demonstrate the financial resources to support themselves during their stay in the United States, as well as transportation expenses to return to their home country.

Your proof of funding documents will depend on sponsor type.

  1. Personal or Family Sponsor: Bank statements for each sponsor showing at least 6 months of balances and activity. A letter from the bank or a single balance statement IS NOT sufficient.
  2. Business Funds:
    1. If you are receiving funds from a business account, you must provide the business registration, which states the name(s) of the business owner(s).
    2. Also provide a Profit/Loss statement, usually included in the business tax documents.
  3. Government or Employer Sponsor: If you are receiving funding from a government or employer, please provide a letter from that source stating the amount awarded to you and the duration of support.
  4. Loans: Official letter from credit institution indicating approval of loan and amount approved.

NOTE: Financial Aid and Scholarships

°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳ has NO financial aid or scholarships available for international students. Students must demonstrate ability to pay for their total educational and living expenses for their entire enrollment at °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENT HEALTH INSURANCE

It is the policy of °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳ that all International students (F-1) carry mandatory comprehensive health insurance coverage. All F-1 students will be automatically enrolled in the required UnitedHealthcare international student health insurance set forth by the State University of New York.

ENROLLMENT PROCESS FOR F1 STUDENTS

F-1 STUDENT VISA

International students who wish to enroll in °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳ are required to obtain an F-1 visa. If the applicant meets all the necessary requirements above, an official letter of acceptance will be e-mailed to the applicant. The letter of acceptance and the I-20 must be presented to the United States Consulate or Embassy with a valid passport and all other required materials in order to obtain an F-1 student visa, which will allow the student to enter the United States.

IMMUNIZATION REQUIREMENTS

WHILE NOT REQUIRED FOR ADMISSIONS, IMMUNIZATION REQUIREMENTS MUST BE MET FOR ENROLLMENT.

New York State Public Health Law 2165 requires all college students born after 1965 and taking 6 credit hours or more during a semester, to provide proof of immunity to measles, mumps, and rubella.

New York State Public Health Law 2167 requires colleges to distribute information about meningococcal disease and vaccinations to all students taking 6 credit hours or more, whether they live on or off-campus.

PAYMENT INFORMATION

FIRST SEMESTER TUITION DEPOSIT

NOTE: The first semester’s tuition and fees are due after registering for classes, in accordance with the published semester payment deadline. Students may pay with cash, wire transfer, ( – tuition payment process which allows students to pay from any country and any bank) or a valid Visa or MasterCard.

FLYWIRE – INTERNATIONAL STUDENT PAYMENTS

°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²ÊÂÛ̳ has partnered with to streamline the tuition payment process. Flywire allows you to pay from any country and any bank. They offer excellent foreign exchange rates, allowing you to pay in your home currency (in most cases). Students can track the progress of their payment throughout the transfer process via a student dashboard and be notified via email when their payment is received.

Students need their Student ID (your C #) to submit payment to Flywire.

PLACEMENT TESTING

Once accepted for Admission, you will be notified if you need placement testing. Most students require placement testing to determine the level of math and/or English they will begin with at our institution.
